Vietnam Strives to Eliminate Obstacles in Cross-Border E-Commerce

While the Vietnamese e-commerce market has positioned itself among the top three in Southeast Asia, experts emphasize the need for increased efforts to eliminate existing barriers in the industry.

Notably, Vietnamese businesses have achieved substantial success on global platforms like Amazon, selling 17 million product units to customers worldwide.

The partnership between Vietnamese entities and Amazon has seen a 40% growth, coupled with a remarkable 50% increase in export value.

Likewise, Alibaba.com, a prominent e-commerce platform, has reported a noteworthy expansion of almost 50% in the trans-border e-commerce trade value for Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises during the initial nine months of 2023.

In recognition of the immense potential in this sector, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam has initiated various measures to facilitate domestic businesses in establishing connections with e-commerce platforms.

A key focus for the Vietnamese ministry is prioritizing the enhancement of cross-border selling skills for domestic enterprises to maximize the country’s potential in the global e-commerce landscape.
