Construction Commences on Ho Chi Minh City’s $61 Million Air Traffic Control Center

A new air traffic control center, valued at VND1.5 trillion (approximately US$61.3 million), has begun construction in Ho Chi Minh City to replace the aging facility at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Situated in Tan Binh District, the upcoming facility will feature a main operational building, an electrical station building, two antenna towers, and additional infrastructure.

This center, funded primarily by the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), will not only replace the current HCMC air traffic control center but will also facilitate access control for the forthcoming Long Thanh Airport and continue providing services for Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Equipped with modern technology and systems, the new center aims to enhance flight operation capabilities while prioritizing safety and efficiency, as highlighted by VATM.

Moreover, VATM emphasizes the pivotal role of the new center in bolstering national defense and homeland security.
