The south-central province of Khanh Hoa is set to witness the construction of a state-of-the-art primate center dedicated to scientific research. The ambitious project, known as the Khanh Binh Hi-Tech Primate Farm, will span 18 hectares and cost approximately $11 million.

A memorandum was recently signed between the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, and Eco & Tech, a South Korea-based company. The facility will specialize in breeding crab-eating macaques and rhesus macaques, making it the first clinical research organization (CRO) of its kind in Vietnam. Each year, the farm will provide top-quality primate specimens to support scientific and research endeavors. Additionally, the investors plan to establish a comprehensive biotechnology and medicine research complex, complete with cutting-edge laboratory facilities.

Tran Hoa Nam, the vice chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, expressed the project’s objective of positioning Khanh Hoa province, and Vietnam as a whole, as a preferred destination for leading scientists and biotech companies worldwide.
