DEEP C Industrial Zones Vietnam inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Japan on December 16, partnering with Sojitz Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SJV) and Sojitz Osaka Gas Energy Co. Ltd. (SOGEC) to spearhead the development of renewable energy solutions for its tenants. The agreement was formalized during the 2023 Vietnam-Japan Economy Forum, witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.
Collaboratively, the partners will explore innovative, low-carbon solutions, emphasizing the use of renewable resources such as biomass fuel to offer cleaner energy alternatives for DEEP C’s tenants.
DEEP C, along with its affiliated companies dedicated to industrial zone (IZ) development and power distribution, is proactively investing in a dependable green energy supply.
This strategic partnership is aligned with DEEP C’s commitment to sustainable development, leveraging the collective expertise of DEEP C—a leading IZ developer deeply committed to green initiatives—and Sojitz, a global trading and investment powerhouse with extensive experience in energy supply and renewables.
Through the initiation of new renewable energy projects, the partners aim to diversify the energy mix and decrease the carbon footprint within DEEP C’s industrial zones.
SJV, operating in Vietnam since 1986, boasts substantial expertise and a lengthy track record in trading a diverse array of commodities and materials.
The company has been a pivotal contributor to Sojitz Group’s endeavors in IZ development and power generation in Vietnam, exemplified by the successful establishment and operation of the Phu My 3 build-operate-transfer power plant. Currently, SJV is venturing into the supply of biomass energy to industrial customers.
Through collaborative efforts, Nippon Sanso, DCGE, and MCVC are showcasing their commitment to steering Vietnam’s energy transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
The partnership holds the potential to establish a reliable and sustainable clean energy source for tenants in DEEP C Haiphong I, paving the way for additional investment and collaboration in Vietnam’s green hydrogen sector. This collaboration has the potential to make a significant impact on Vietnam’s clean energy landscape.
