EuroCham Vietnam’s Newest Whitebook Offers Suggestions to Enhance Sustainable Investment

On January 16, the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham Vietnam) unveiled its 15th annual Whitebook, offering European perspectives on Vietnam’s business policies.

This latest Whitebook presents a comprehensive set of recommendations focused on advancing Vietnam’s investment in a green and sustainable economy.

While environmental sustainability remains a primary objective, the Whitebook takes a broader approach, concentrating on four key areas: enhancing the business environment, exploring consumer choices, addressing developments in the health and beauty industry, and sharing best practices for green and sustainable development.

Through these pillars, businesses can improve their capabilities, streamline operations, and bolster their social responsibility.

The 2024 edition of the EuroCham Whitebook stands as a valuable resource enriched by the input of EuroCham’s 19 sector committees. Each committee serves as a specialized group of experts, contributing in-depth knowledge and offering policy recommendations.

Their expertise spans various sectors, encompassing the rapidly evolving digital economy and initiatives for sustainable and green growth, transforming the document from a mere collection of studies into a practical guide.

EuroCham Chairman Gabor Fluit remarked, “The enduring Europe-Vietnam relationship showcases the strength of collaboration and overcoming challenges together. Our ongoing joint commitment and aligned vision pave the way for significant progress in developing Vietnam’s business climate.”

“This Whitebook aims to contribute to shaping a future where responsible businesses drive innovation, positively impacting Vietnam’s people and environment. Despite the challenges ahead, Vietnam and Europe share a strong determination to achieve their ambitious sustainability goals. Past achievements, coupled with future focus, signal exciting prospects,” added Fluit.

Erick Contreras, Chairman of the EuroCham Green Growth Sector Committee, stated, “We aspire to collaborate with Vietnam in championing next-generation sustainability solutions across key industries. We eagerly offer global expertise on topics ranging from waste management innovations to energy-efficient building design.”
