The completion of the T3 domestic terminal at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport is slated for April 2025, marking a remarkable two-month advancement ahead of schedule, just in time for the Reunification Day holiday on April 30.
Le Khac Hong, the head of the project management board, emphasized the determination of both investors and contractors to accelerate the project timeline, aiming for its completion by April 30 of the following year. To achieve this goal, there is a concerted effort to bolster manpower, machinery, equipment, and construction activities.
At present, the consortium of contractors has deployed more than 400 motorized vehicles and nearly 2,000 engineers and workers. Progress stands at 80%, with various construction components advancing according to the established schedule.
Spanning across a total construction area of 112,500 sq.m., the terminal is engineered to accommodate an annual capacity of 20 million passengers, featuring one basement floor and four above-ground levels. Anticipated to effectively double Tan Son Nhat’s operational capacity, the new terminal is poised to alleviate both internal and external traffic congestion plaguing the presently overloaded airport.
