TVS Motor Company, the Indian manufacturer of two-wheelers, has introduced a range of scooters and motorcycles in Vietnam, priced between VND25.8 million (US$1,060) and VND35.9 million ($1,475). This marks the company’s entry into the Vietnamese market through a partnership with local distributor Minh Long Motors.
All the vehicles are imported from Indonesia.
Among them, the TVS Rockz is the most affordable, priced at VND25.8 million ($1,060) each. As part of TVS Motor’s flagship models, the Ntorq 125 offers three versions—RE, XP, and XT—at VND32.9 million ($1,352), VND33.9 million ($1,393), and VND35.9 million ($1,475) each, respectively.
These vehicles can be connected to smartphones, enabling riders to give voice commands and display notifications from social media, as well as directions and journey information through an LCD monitor.
Motorcycle traders in Vietnam believe that the local two-wheeler market is nearing saturation due to intense competition among manufacturers.
J Thangarajan, President Director of TVS Motor, expressed confidence that the company would quickly secure a significant market share in Vietnam, given its position as the fourth-largest two-wheeler manufacturer globally.
TVS Motor Company also has plans to establish a factory in the Southeast Asian country.
🏆 According to economic experts, both Vietnam and India are among the world’s largest consumers of scooters and motorcycles, ranking fourth and first, respectively.
