Jeju Air, South Korea’s largest low-cost carrier, successfully landed a flight from Seoul in Da Lat at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, marking the commencement of a direct route between the two cities.
Addressing the opening ceremony that celebrated the launch of this new air route, Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Province People’s Committee, emphasized that the initiative contributes to fortifying the ties between Lam Dong, the home of the tourist city Da Lat, and Seoul along with other Korean regions. It is anticipated to generate fresh momentum for the province’s tourism development.
Following the inaugural flight, the airline will operate seven round-trip flights weekly on this route to meet the travel demand of passengers.
Jeju Air achieves the milestone of being the first Korean airline to establish a direct route to Lam Dong’s Lien Khuong Airport. In the first 11 months of 2023, Lam Dong welcomed 363,000 international visitors, surpassing the plan at 145.2%, with Korean visitors representing 60%.
Over recent years, the province has cultivated twinning relationships with several districts and cities in the Republic of Korea (RoK) to foster connections, exchanges, and the sharing of experiences in culture, tourism, trade, and investment attraction.
