Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City Emerges as Southeast Asia's Busiest Domestic Air Route

The Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route, which takes approximately two hours, claimed the title of the busiest domestic air route in Southeast Asia for July, with a total of 987,000 passengers. This figure represents a 5% increase compared to the previous month.
According to OAG, a British provider of digital flight information, intelligence, and analytics, the second busiest domestic route in the region was the Jakarta-Denpasar route in Indonesia, serving 629,877 passengers. Ranking third was the Da Nang-Hanoi route, which accommodated 558,618 passengers. Notably, five out of the top 10 domestic routes in Southeast Asia for July were located in Indonesia. In terms of capacity, Vietnam ranked as the second largest country with 7 million seats available in July, following Indonesia with 10 million seats. Vietnam accounted for 19% of the region’s total capacity.
Among the regional carriers, Vietnam Airlines secured the position of the second largest carrier based on seat volume, offering 2.9 million seats. The leading carrier in terms of seat volume was Lion Air from Indonesia, with 3.1 million seats.
