Seller of counterfeit Chanel perfume fined $2,100

A shop in Pleiku, Gia Lai Province, has been fined VND50.5 million (US$2,100) for selling counterfeit Chanel and Lancome perfumes and sunscreen through Facebook livestream. The local police caught the shop during a livestream session after monitoring it for some time.
During the raid, they found 300 bottles of perfumes labeled as Chanel, 118 bottles labeled as Lancome, and 204 tubes of sunscreen with the Lancome label. The police checked all the documents provided by the shop and concluded that the products were fake. They also found 440 breath refresher bottles without invoices.
The shop was fined for selling counterfeit goods, violating intellectual property rights, and trading cosmetics of unknown origin. All the fake products were confiscated and will be destroyed.
