Get ready for an exciting weekend experience as a night street entertainment zone is set to debut in Thao Dien, the expat hub of Ho Chi Minh City. The launch is scheduled for this Friday, as the city endeavors to enhance its nocturnal economy.
Spanning across Xuan Thuy, Quoc Huong, and Nguyen Van Huong streets, the zone will come alive from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. every Friday and Saturday, showcasing captivating street art performances, as announced by city authorities on Tuesday.
In addition to an array of food stalls, the venue will host jazz and rock concerts, traditional southern music (don ca tai tu) performances, and shopping during its initial six-month trial period.
To facilitate access for tourists, authorities have devised plans for free electric buses to transport visitors to and from the entertainment zone.
Nestled in the eastern part of the city, surrounded by the Saigon and Rach Chiec rivers, Thao Dien is home to a thriving community of over 20,000 residents.
The area is also renowned for its upscale bars and restaurants that stay open until midnight, adding to the vibrant nightlife scene.
Ho Chi Minh City presently boasts eight night street zones, including popular spots like Bui Vien and Nguyen Hue walking-only streets in District 1.
