Amazon, the global e-retail giant, envisions Vietnam as an emerging link in its worldwide e-commerce supply chain, recognizing the country’s increasing prominence as a major manufacturing hub regionally and globally, according to Eric B., Vice President of Worldwide Amazon Global Selling and International Seller Services.
Broussard made this announcement following his business meetings with various Vietnamese entrepreneurs, sales partners, and service providers during his recent visit to Vietnam.
He emphasized that the expanding global retail e-commerce landscape presents abundant opportunities for traders worldwide, including those from Vietnam.
Broussard highlighted the impressive fact that in 2022, the export value of goods and services constituted a significant 91 percent of Vietnam’s GDP.
In a recent interview with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, the Amazon vice-president expressed his views, noting that Vietnam has shown positive growth potential in the B2C (business-to-consumer) e-commerce sector, thanks to supportive government policies and a robust ongoing digital transformation.
In this context, Vietnam will offer a broader range of choices to millions of Amazon customers. This is the primary reason motivating Amazon to support Vietnam as a key component in the group’s global supply chain, according to Broussard.
Secondly, Vietnam is steadily establishing itself as a crucial emerging manufacturing center in Asia and globally, boasting steady production capacity and a diverse product portfolio, including furniture, electronics, textiles, and various consumer goods.
With its ability to produce high-quality, innovative, and competitive products, Vietnam, with its manufacturing strength, entrepreneurial spirit, and rapid digital transformation, has the potential to become a vital player in the global e-commerce supply chain, concluded the Amazon executive.
The group has inaugurated the first Amazon Day-1 training center in Vietnam to assist local traders unfamiliar with Amazon in understanding its operations, tools, services, and programs.
Operating over 400 order fulfillment centers worldwide, the group provides convenient services for Vietnamese sellers to market their products, among other supports, added Broussard.
Vietnamese small and medium businesses sold a total of 17 million products of various kinds through Amazon in 2023, according to the group.
