SK Ecoplant and BCG Energy Collaborate on Renewable Energy Ventures in Vietnam

BCG Energy Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of Bamboo Capital Joint Stock Company (BCG) Vietnam, has formed a partnership with SK ecoplant, a South Korean investor in renewable energy, to launch a solar and wind power project in Vietnam with a capacity of 700 MW.

The agreement, signed in Seoul on March 22, outlines a collaborative effort to develop a project consisting of 300 MW of onshore wind power, 300 MW of rooftop solar power, and 100 MW of onshore solar power.

As of December 2023, BCG Energy’s operational renewable energy capacity nearly reached 700 MW. The company is currently implementing an additional 229 MW and has plans for an additional 670 MW in the future.

SK ecoplant, a subsidiary of SK Group, aims to identify renewable energy projects with significant potential, including wind power generation in Gia Lai province in the Central Highlands.

Kim Jung-hoon, CEO of the company’s factory solutions business unit, stated that with its diverse experience and specialized technical capabilities, SK ecoplant will be able to fully leverage Vietnam’s abundant renewable energy resources. The company is committed to contributing to global carbon reduction efforts and taking a leading role in addressing climate issues through the renewable energy value chain.
