Viettel Group, the telecommunications giant, announced a revenue of VND172.5 trillion (US$7.04 billion) for 2023, reflecting a 5.4% increase compared to the previous year.
Although the state-owned company has not disclosed its profit figures for the year, it achieved pre-tax profits of VND43.5 trillion in 2022, marking its highest in five years.
Viettel disclosed its 56% mobile market share and the deployment of nearly 500 5G base stations nationwide.
Notably, the company achieved a significant milestone in Vietnam’s semiconductor industry by producing the 56 DFE chip, the most intricate component of the 5G ecosystem, last year.
Viettel secured market shares of 43% in fiber-to-home and 31% in the multi-platform television markets.
With a remarkable 20% surge in overseas revenues, Viettel emerged as the leading telecom provider in six countries: Haiti, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, East Timor, and Burundi.
The company has set a target for a 7.2% revenue growth for the current year.
