Katy Perry, the renowned American pop star, is set to make her debut performance in Vietnam on December 20.
The performance will take place at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi and is part of the VinFuture Science and Technology Awards ceremony.
While the organizers have not revealed the setlist, they have assured that the majority of the songs performed will convey a positive spirit, encouraging resilience and determination to overcome challenges.
Although Perry has visited Vietnam twice before, this marks her first live performance in the country. She attended a forum in Ho Chi Minh City in 2015 and visited the coastal Ninh Thuan province a year later as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund.
Born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, the 39-year-old Perry is among the best-selling music artists globally, with over 143 million records sold.
Beyond her impact on modern pop music, the American singer is recognized for her active engagement in social work, advocating for the rights of children and the LGBT community over the years.
The VinFuture Science and Technology Awards represent an annual international accolade, celebrating remarkable scientific breakthroughs and promoting innovations for the betterment of humanity. Notably, American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera performed at the award ceremony last year.
