Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh Embarks on China-ASEAN Expo Trip in Nanning

On Saturday morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived at Nanning Airport, marking the beginning of his trip to attend the 20th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. During his two-day visit to Nanning, located in Guangxi Province, Chinh is scheduled to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, tour Vietnam’s area and pavilions, participate in official activities, engage with leaders from the host country and participating nations, and meet with prominent Chinese and ASEAN enterprises.

Through his participation in this event, Vietnam aims to convey a clear and consistent message regarding its foreign policy, as outlined in the 13th National Party Congress. This message emphasizes the importance of Vietnam’s relationship with China, with a focus on strengthening political trust, fostering multifaceted cooperation, and promoting economic collaboration and trade. The goal is to ensure that bilateral relations continue to develop in a healthy, stable, substantial, and effective manner in the future.

Prime Minister Chinh expresses his hope that ASEAN and China will not only be each other’s largest economic cooperation and trade partners but also important comprehensive strategic partners for peace, cooperation, and development. He proposes close coordination between ASEAN and China to transform the region into a hub of economic growth, among other objectives.

Of particular importance, the Prime Minister requests that China expand its market, increase transit goods quotas, and expedite the opening of its doors to aqua-agricultural products and fruits from ASEAN countries, which are transited through Vietnam, for entry into the Chinese market.
