Vietnam and Switzerland Seek Trade and Investment Expansion

Geneva witnessed a gathering of over 150 economic experts, government representatives, and business leaders from Switzerland and Vietnam. The seminar, held in Zurich on September 8, focused on trade, investment, and technology cooperation between the two countries.

The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in Switzerland, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce, Bellecapital financial investment fund, Keep It Beautiful Vietnam (KIBV), and the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Switzerland (AVIES). Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland, Phung The Long, highlighted the desire of both nations to enhance their cooperative relationship based on mutual trust and shared values of peace, cooperation, and development.

Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam, Thomas Gass, acknowledged the significant progress made in bilateral relations over the past 52 years, emphasizing the importance of high-level exchanges in strengthening trade and investment ties. The seminar focused on exploring ways to boost bilateral cooperation, develop sustainable startup ecosystems in Vietnam, and identify investment opportunities. Participants were briefed on Vietnam’s investment policies and priorities, as well as the challenges and opportunities in economic cooperation between the two countries. They also put forward recommendations to enhance bilateral trade and facilitate business activities while addressing potential obstacles.
