Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is set to participate in the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, and embark on official visits to Hungary and Romania from January 16 to 23.
Accompanied by his spouse and a distinguished Vietnamese delegation, Prime Minister Chinh will attend the WEF event, scheduled from January 15 to 19, at the invitation of WEF founder and chairman Klaus Schwab, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
Subsequently, he will undertake official visits to Hungary and Romania, following invitations extended by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
Vietnam has maintained a relationship with WEF since 1989 and is consistently invited to its annual gatherings in Davos, Switzerland, as well as its conferences on East Asia. The Vietnamese PM participated in the WEF’s 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China in June 2023.
During that event, he sought WEF’s support for Vietnam in technology and finance, emphasizing the importance of training modern, high-quality personnel.
