Time Out names Vietnam one of the safest destinations for solo female travelers

British magazine Time Out has included Vietnam in its list of nine safest destinations for solo female travelers worldwide, making it the sole representative from Southeast Asia.

According to the magazine, “Vietnam emerges as a strong contender for solo female travelers in Southeast Asia, alongside Thailand, boasting safety and security for visitors.”

With its political stability and low rates of violent crime, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Hanoi are highlighted as particularly suitable destinations for international visitors.

Time Out editors recommend exploring the ancient villages of Hoi An, renowned for its leisurely pace of life and serene ambiance, as well as indulging in Hue’s culinary delights, once the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam’s final ruling monarchs.

Presently, Hue offers a rich culinary experience with over 1,200 dishes, including specialties like bun bo Hue (beef noodle soup), Hue-style sweet soups, spring rolls, and com hen, a rice dish featuring local ingredients such as baby mussels (hen) and fresh herbs.

Apart from Vietnam, Time Out’s list features destinations such as Sri Lanka, Japan, Australia, Greece, and New Zealand.
