Vietjet Launches New Route Connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai

Vietjet Air has recently introduced a new air route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Shanghai, China, providing a convenient and accessible travel option for residents and tourists alike. The route operates seven round trips weekly, each leg taking just over 4 hours.

These new flights enhance travel accessibility to Shanghai, China’s most populous city, fostering connectivity and creating opportunities for the development of high-end products, services, trade connections, and investment attraction.

Ho Chi Minh City, with a population of nearly 9 million, stands out as a prominent economic, cultural, and tourist hub in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. It serves as a key transportation hub, offering seamless connectivity to various destinations both within Vietnam and internationally.

Vietjet has been operating services between Vietnam and China since 2014, initially facilitating travel for Chinese visitors to popular Vietnamese tourist destinations like Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc.

Vietnam was among the top five sources of foreign tourists to China, with over 7.9 million Vietnamese travelers recorded in 2019 by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Statistics for the first 11 months of 2023 indicate that Vietnam welcomed more than 11.2 million international tourists, including over 1.5 million arrivals from China.
