Binh Duong Welcomes New $84 Million Freeze-Dried Instant Coffee Facility

On September 29, Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and Instanta sp z o.o jointly inaugurated ILD Coffee Vietnam, a freeze-dried instant coffee facility located in Binh Duong province. The facility has an annual production capacity of 5,600 metric tons of freeze-dried instant coffee. This new venture reflects the companies’ dedication to safety as it is equipped with the latest extraction and freeze-drying technology and holds certifications such as FSSC 22000 and SMETA audits.

In alignment with the partners’ commitment to sustainable coffee production and distribution, the facility’s equipment is designed to minimize its environmental impact. For instance, a biomass boiler utilizes spent coffee grounds from the plant to generate steam.

The establishment of this new facility is a response to the growing global demand for instant coffee, especially premium freeze-dried instant coffee. The product offerings from the facility are tailored to meet the preferences of consumers in established markets like Europe, as well as emerging markets in Asia.

Ben Clarkson, LDC’s Global Head of Coffee, stated that the partnership with Instanta supports their global strategy to diversify through value-added products. It also demonstrates their ongoing commitment to Vietnam as a key market and complements their existing robusta green coffee business, expanding the product portfolio to meet customer demands.

Jacek Szymczyk, Chairman at Instanta, expressed excitement about ILD Coffee Vietnam, considering it a significant milestone for their company. He emphasized their passion for coffee and their expertise brought to this strategic joint venture with LDC, a renowned global merchant and processor of agricultural goods.
