Nokia and Foxconn Collaborate to Manufacture 5G AirScale Equipment in Vietnam

Nokia and Foxconn are teaming up to manufacture Nokia’s 5G AirScale equipment at Foxconn’s facility in Bac Giang, Vietnam. This collaboration involves the production of cutting-edge AirScale Massive MIMO radio products, with manufacturing set to commence in July and ramp up by September 2024. The equipment will be marketed both domestically and internationally.

This partnership aims to create employment opportunities and spur economic growth for Vietnamese enterprises, while also focusing on reducing carbon emissions. Foxconn expressed enthusiasm about expanding its longstanding relationship with Nokia and enhancing Vietnam’s role as a preferred manufacturing hub. With over 17 years of operations in Vietnam, Foxconn anticipates bolstering the country’s economy through this alliance with Nokia.

Ruben Moron Flores, Nokia Vietnam’s general director, highlighted that producing the AirScale portfolio in Vietnam with Foxconn will meet customer demands efficiently and improve cost-effectiveness. Nokia’s commitment to optimizing its manufacturing, distribution, and supplier networks in the region underscores its enduring partnership with Vietnam, which spans three decades.

As Nokia continues its 5G deployment projects with Vietnamese telecom service providers, Foxconn’s increased production capacity in Vietnam as Nokia’s global manufacturing partner is expected to accelerate 5G deployment across the country.
