Pandora, the World’s Largest Jeweler, Set to Begin Construction on $150 Million Factory in Vietnam

Pandora, the world’s largest jewelry manufacturer headquartered in Denmark, is set to commence construction on its third global factory, located in southern Vietnam, with an investment exceeding $150 million, as reported by the Danish Embassy in Hanoi.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new jewelry production facility, named Pandora Production Vietnam Co. Ltd., is scheduled for May 16 at the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park 3 (VSIP 3) in Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong Province, approximately 40km from Ho Chi Minh City, the embassy disclosed on Friday.

The construction of this new factory is the result of a memorandum of understanding signed between Pandora and Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park J.V. Co. Ltd. (VSIP) in May 2022.

The upcoming facility is designed to operate entirely on renewable energy, with the goal of achieving Gold certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system.

Once operational, this $150 million project is anticipated to create job opportunities for over 7,000 workers and produce approximately 60 million jewelry items annually.

Elaborating on the choice of Vietnam for Pandora’s third global production site and its first outside of Thailand, the company highlighted a meticulous evaluation process involving 27 countries.

Jeerasage Puranasamriddhi, the company’s chief supply officer, cited Vietnam’s rich tradition of craftsmanship, emphasizing the availability of skilled silversmiths and artisans in the region.

He further commented on the favorable infrastructure and readiness of both Binh Duong and VSIP 3 for Pandora’s factory construction.

“We are delighted that Pandora Group has chosen Binh Duong to establish a new manufacturing facility in Vietnam,” expressed Puranasamriddhi on Pandora’s website. He affirmed that the group, known for its status as the world’s leading jewelry manufacturer and adherence to European working standards, along with the diverse career opportunities it offers, will bring a professional work environment to the province’s workforce.
