Porsche and Charge+ Partner to Develop Electric Vehicle Charging Network in Vietnam

Singapore-based electric vehicle (EV) charging company Charge+ has partnered with Porsche AG to launch a 1,700 km EV charging network in Vietnam, connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

This initiative will establish 17 DC ultra-fast charging sites nationwide over the next three years.

The first nine sites, featuring charging speeds of up to 180 kW, will be operational by mid-2025 in key cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, and Danang. The remaining eight sites are scheduled for completion by mid-2027.

Additionally, the existing high-performance charging sites at Porsche Studio Hanoi and Porsche Centre Saigon will be integrated into the Charge+ app.

The completion of the Charge+ network will be a significant milestone for Vietnam’s EV charging infrastructure, enabling seamless and efficient journeys for EV drivers across the country.

“Aligned with our mission to catalyse electric mobility in Southeast Asia, Charge+ is implementing a 5,000 km EV charging highway spanning six countries, from Singapore to Hanoi. We are thrilled to partner with Porsche, a visionary pioneer in EVs, for the 1,700 km Vietnam leg, enhancing the EV charging experience in Vietnam. This new charging backbone will boost confidence in long-distance driving and accelerate the EV transition in Vietnam,” said Chee Kiong Goh, CEO of Charge+.

“We are proud to lead the development of charging infrastructure in Southeast Asia, in line with our three-pronged charging strategy: convenient at-home charging solutions, Porsche Destination Charging at lifestyle locations, and seamless ultra-fast charging networks for long EV journeys,” said Henrik Dreier, director of New Business Fields at Porsche Asia Pacific.

Similarly, Andreas Klingler, general director of Porsche Vietnam, remarked, “By establishing this new ultra-fast charging network with our partners, we aim to facilitate nationwide EV journeys for our customers, while providing high levels of service and convenient charging solutions. EV owners in Vietnam can anticipate hassle-free inter-city EV travel, making long-distance EV journeys smoother and more seamless than ever before.”

Charge+ currently operates over 2,000 EV charging points across Southeast Asia. The company aims to run 30,000 charging points by 2030. After its launch in Singapore, Charge+ has expanded its operations to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
